Retail stores will start putting the new operating system up on shelves from today with the prices being as follows:

This is about AU$70 more than what it is retailing for in the US.

Microsoft’s AU site also seems to be having problems. After clicking on an advertisement earlier today and then following the link to Get It Now we were presented with a 404 page. This 404 error is now gone but the Get It Now link now redirects visitors to the Microsoft UK online shop instead.

Very poor Microsoft…

Also absent is any detail about the Windows 7 ‘Famiy Pack’ announced in the US. The Family Pack is a 3-license copy of Home Premium for US$149. Microsoft have said previously that this will be available in AU but expect it to come in at around AU$300 if it is made available at all.

Not the best news in the world but at least it is here!
